Developed in collaboration with the Emerald Coast Science Center, our Magnetic Cloud is not only a unique interactive exhibit, but also a fascinating display of kinetic art! Mounted to a wall or other vertical surface is a sturdy, welded structure on which an oil-filled disk rotates. When this occurs, a fine metal powder falls gracefully through the oil creating a dynamic, swirling Magnetic Cloud. The exhibit also includes a pair of magnet wands encouraging your guests to interact with the "cloud" or to simply lift up and release the magnetized particles within the clear oil.
