Ring Launcher
With the push of a button, the coil is energized and eddy currents fire an aluminum ring skyward! The ring is guided toward the ceiling along a metal pole and automatically returns to launch position ready to go again. Our Ring Launcher is designed with a focus on quality and top-notch reliability. To prevent it from overheating, a special timer array is used to put the coil into a ten second cooling period after each launch. This is communicated to the visitor by the illumination of a "Please Wait" light. After this cooling period is over, the "Please Wait" light shuts off and the illuminated "Launch" push-button lights back up. A meter on the control panel displays electrical current when the coil is energized. As with all Science Kinetics exhibits, our Ring Launcher uses only solid-state electronics for its control circuits, so there are no moving parts to wear out. We can customize a ring launcher for you that will repel a ring to a predetermined height to match the ceiling height of the space in which the exhibit is to be located.
