History

Science Kinetics was founded by Jeff Shapiro, a former science teacher who realized that children have an inborn desire to discover how the world works.

After quickly realizing the ineffectiveness of traditional, textbook based teaching techniques, Jeff began structuring classroom lessons exclusively around hands-on experiences.

Through the overwhelming response in student and parent enthusiasm and an increase in standardized test scores, it became immediately apparent that there is no better way to learn and get excited about science than through carefully-designed interactive experiences. To better facilitate these experiences, Jeff began designing and building teaching "tools" to further spark his students' curiosity and enthusiasm.

Before long, Jeff's classroom began resembling a small hands-on science center and was frequently visited by other teachers accompanied by their students. The popularity and effectiveness of Jeff's classroom environment combined with his previous experience working for a major science center resulted in the inspiration for Science Kinetics.
